This policy covers all Attorney Shield Members (you) and our apps, websites, member portal, technology, facilities, Attorney Connection, and Record and Retrieval services (the Platform). It covers personal information about you and others, including recordings, but excludes combined information that identifies no one. Our Terms of Service also apply
We collect information you provide, usage and device information, and information from service providers, optional programs, and other sources.
Account details include name, email, phone number, birth date, gender identity, optional photo, payment information, and identity checks such as government ID. Optional details to help attorneys include copies of driver’s licenses, auto insurance, gun permits, and emergency contacts. We collect ratings, feedback, surveys, messages, and attachments.We collect precise device location when you open and use the app, including background collection from your Attorney Connection request, to record the interaction and inform your designated emergency contact. Additional location collection is opt-in.We collect service-request dates, times, locations, payments, viewed pages and content, device model, IP address, browser, operating system, carrier, identifiers, and push tokens. Optional sensor data may support future features.
Uploaded images and documents are available to you and, only during active consultation, the supporting Law Firm.
Attorney Connection recordings include audio and video of attorney communications and police interactions. Request copies through Attorney Shield support. We protect information covered by attorney-client privilege under applicable law; privilege depends on content and circumstances, not simply Platform use.
Record and Retrieval streams your footage to the Platform for storage and app download. It may include audio and identifying information about you, officers, witnesses, bystanders, or others. There is no formal Attorney review, attorney-client relationship, or privilege. Service providers initially process all recorded footage through their video streaming platforms; footage is stored within Attorney Shield’s Platform.
We release privileged information only upon your written request (or a minor’s parent or guardian’s); your legal representative’s written request with a signed release or power of attorney; or a verified court subpoena or judge’s order, subject to applicable privilege protections and legal requirements. A subpoena alone does not remove privilege.
Enterprise and distribution partners, referral programs, members, and public or third-party sources, including police, insurers, and media, may provide information about you, subject to disclosure obligations.
We use information to provide, secure, and improve the Platform; maintain our community; support members; facilitate Attorney Connection; receive, store, process, and deliver footage; and meet legal proceedings and requirements.
By using Record and Retrieval, you grant Attorney Shield nonexclusive, worldwide, permanent, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable rights to use, copy, display, distribute, adapt, or combine with other video footage all Record and Retrieval footage you create, including audio, to the extent you can lawfully grant these rights.
You may still use your footage. We may use it worldwide without paying royalties, edit it, combine it, distribute it, and transfer these rights. Closing your account or stopping use does not withdraw the license. Recognizable people and personal information may remain visible. This license covers only Record and Retrieval footage, not Attorney Connection recordings, and cannot override applicable law or privacy rights that cannot legally be waived.
We do not sell personal information for money, allow anyone to buy it, or act as a data broker.
Record and Retrieval footage may still be displayed or distributed, including edits and compilations, under Section 3.
We may share information with emergency contacts, family-plan members, referral recipients, minor account parents or guardians, and supporting Law Firms or Attorneys to provide Attorney Connection. We also share information with service providers operating the Platform, for legal reasons or Platform protection, during sales or mergers under confidentiality agreements, and at your direction. Recording or storage alone does not submit footage to a Law Firm for review.
We keep profile information while accounts are active, transactions for at least seven years for business and legal obligations, and other information as needed for services or those obligations, subject to law.
Attorney Connection footage is stored indefinitely, without scheduled expiration or routine deletion, subject to legal requirements and privacy rights.
Record and Retrieval has a planned minimum storage period of 60 days from successful upload. Paid extensions may be offered, with price, duration, and conditions disclosed before purchase. Without an extension, access beyond standard storage is not promised. Download footage you wish to keep.
Storage expiration does not end the permanent license; the license does not promise permanent storage or access. Retention and use remain subject to law, valid deletion requests, and required preservation. We take reasonable, appropriate security measures, but none are completely effective.
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails and texts, control push notifications and location through device settings, edit profiles, manage cookies, and download available footage. Contact support@attorney-shield.com for account deletion or information and recording access or deletion requests.
We handle requests under applicable law and may retain information for permitted or required business or legal obligations. Account closure or requests do not automatically end the license, which cannot override required deletion, use limits, or privacy rights.
Third-party sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for them; review their policies.
We may update this policy as services and laws change. We notify you of material changes through the Platform or another method, such as email. Continued use means agreement only as legally permitted. Where required, we obtain additional consent for material changes affecting previously collected information or new uses. This policy does not replace separate agreements or consent required for the footage license.
